Lenexa Chamber of Commerce: Chamber

Bing Bingham understands the value of membership in the Lenexa Chamber, more importantly he realizes the benefits of involvement in the community.

Aside from being a past member of the Chamber's Board of Directors, past Chairman of the Annual Golf Classic Committee, and a current Chairman's Ambassador, Bingham works to support such programs as Meals on Wheels, Headstart, the Salvation Army, and is a member of the Kiwanis. In addition, he volunteers his time to the 3 & 2 Baseball Club in the summer.

"I look at a lot of people complaining about what's going on," Bingham said. "Eventually it was obvious to me that if I wanted to be active and successful in the community there had to be some sort of involvement."

Bingham has spent the past 30 plus years with Allstate Insurance, with the past 23 of those at his office in Lenexa.

"I joined the Chamber at the persistence of Mike Boehm," Bingham said. "It has been a very effective way for me to get involved and network to expand my business. It doesn't happen right away, but I talk to people all day long and invariably they always ask me about something besides insurance and that's when I can guide them to another member's business. I'm sure that sort of thing comes back to me as well."

When he's not busy with volunteer work, selling insurance or attending a Chamber event, Bingham can be found at the baseball fields in the summer.

Even if he's not working, he loves the game and to watch the young people of our community playing it.

"It's the greatest thing," Bingham said. "You pay a dollar and you get to sit out in the warm weather and enjoy all of the young people having fun. It's exciting to watch all of the different emotions the kids go through. They're so happy when they make a play, it's just something I really enjoy."
