Greg Peterson - Custom Specialties, Inc

After many years spent in the healthcare field, Greg sold his business, took on a full-time volunteer job for a year and a half, and has spent the last 6 years advising and providing businesses with advertising products that promote their business and the finest in corporate, construction and safety apparel.   He has been involved with the Lenexa Chamber since serving as a Lenexa City Councilman from 1984-88.

Greg, his wife, Vickie & daughter Leigh moved to Lenexa from Minnesota in 1980- the hottest summer on record in Kansas- with 2 cars with no air conditioning (pre global warming….).  However, we have come to love it here and our daughter and family live a block down the street.  Life is good in Lenexa!

Greg has also been active in Rotary, serving as the President of the Lenexa Rotary Club and District Governor.  Because of their involvement in the Rotary Youth Exchange Program, Greg and Vickie have traveled all over the world to see their “kids”- Norway, Poland, Turkey, South Africa, Argentina, Brazil, Japan.

Greg has found Chamber membership important, even when his business was focused outside of the Kansas City area.  “Chamber membership kept me in touch with my friends and local business community and the value in that was well worth the expense.”
