Sonya Wright has been named as the Human Resources Director for Mize Houser & Company. A 19 year employee of the firm, Sonya has worked in a number of areas including retirement plan consulting, training and the firm’s QSR (Quick Service Restaurant) niche where she managed marketing, client events and relationships across the country. Sonya is a Certified Financial Planner (CFP®) and Certified Employee Benefits Specialist (CEBS). She holds a BA from Tabor College and an MS from Kansas State University, and is also a graduate of Leadership Overland Park.
Courtney Morrill, CPA, is promoted from Audit Senior to Audit Manager. Morrill joined Mize Houser & Company., P.A. in 1997. Courtney is responsible for on-site supervision of audit staff and fieldwork on client engagements. She is a licensed CPA in both Kansas and Missouri and is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Kansas Society of Certified Public Accountants.
Rachel Koger is promoted to Relationship Manager in the Quick Service Restaurant (QSR) department that provides accounting, payroll and tax services to QSR clients nationwide. Rachel joined Mize Houser & Company in 2012. She holds a BS degree in Accounting and Business Management from Baker University and a MBA in Leadership & Change in Organizations with an emphasis in Entrepreneurship from the University of Missouri – Kansas City.

Leading Fast Casual Café Hosts Grand Opening Event In Kansas City Area on Dec. 11
ATLANTA (Dec. 14, 2015) – Tropical Smoothie Café, the leading fast casual café concept known for its better-for-you food and smoothies with a tropical twist, announced today its first restaurant in Kansas will celebrate its grand opening on Tuesday, Jan. 5 at 12850 W. 87th Street in Lenexa, a suburb of Kansas City. The new smoothie franchise is owned and operated by Scott and Missy Andersen. The restaurant’s grand opening will begin at 12 p.m. and include a ribbon-cutting ceremony, entertainment and local dignitaries, including Lenexa mayor Mike Boehm.
Scott Andersen, a Kansas City area resident for seven and a half years, first discovered Tropical Smoothie Café while working in Virginia. As a frequent business traveler, the smoothie franchise became a daily stop for him, because of the café’s fresh and healthier offerings in a quick-service setting. Years later, on a vacation in Florida, Scott introduced his family to Tropical Smoothie Café. That afternoon, Missy and Scott decided the company was one they wanted to align themselves with and share with their community in Kansas City.
