I-35 TOURISM COALITION HOSTS PHOTO CONTEST!
The I-35 Tourism Coalition announced this week a photo contest which runs through August 31, 2009. The contest is being held to capture images of Kansas attractions, landscape, community, people and culture. I-35 members encourage the public, who may be traveling Kansas during the summer, to submit a photo of their visit to our state.
Launched during National Tourism Week, the photo contest will feature one cash prize of $500 for the winning photo! Upon conclusion of the contest, I-35 member communities will vote to award the winner.
Julie Steiner, coordinator of the I-35 Tourism Coalition stated, “We are excited about this contest because it gives us the opportunity to see our state through the eyes of our visitors. Between Kansas City and Wichita, I-35 boasts 234 miles of smiles and we’d love to see the photos captured by visitors along the interstate during their summer travels.”
The nine participating I-35 communities include: Wichita, El Dorado, Emporia, Ottawa, Gardner, Olathe, Lenexa, Merriam and Kansas City, Kansas.
Interstate 35 boasts 234 miles of beautiful roadway in Kansas dotted with quaint towns and major metropolitan cities, rolling hills, beautiful prairie, historic sites, attractions, shopping, dining, recreation and breathtaking scenic views.
