Doug Brown serves as the grounds supervisor for Lakeview Village in Lenexa. Doug has a “can-do” attitude and exercises this characteristic by doing thoughtful things for residents and fellow employees like fixing flat tires, design/build memory gardens for residents, holding fundraisers for children, just to name a few. Mention Doug’s name to employees or residents and they will all reply the same way – “Wow, what a guy”. He has a soft spot in his heart for seniors, and as resident Wayne Moore states, “Doug is very helpful and does things for me that are above his call of duty.” He truly cares about people, seniors in particular.
Debra Zehr, President and CEO of LeadingAge Kansas said, “It is clear that Doug’s passion and commitment to serve extends far beyond the challenge of keeping the grounds in great shape. By his actions, interest and words is enriching the lives of the people who call Lakeview Village home.” Lakeview Village is the largest retirement community in Kansas, located in Lenexa, offering active living and healthcare options to its nearly 800 residents.
