KANSAS CITY CHAPTER, AGC HONORS SEVERAL LENEXA CONTRACTORS FOR TOP PROJECTS

Several Lenexa, Kansas, contractor members of the Kansas City Chapter of the Associated General
Contractors of America (AGC) were honored at the biennial Building Excellence Awards Banquet on
Thursday, May 6, 2010. They are as follows:

PROJECT OF THE YEAR BY A GENERAL CONTRACTOR

W. Craig Simon, P.E., President of Professional Contractors & Engineers, Inc. (PCE) of Columbia,
Missouri, is 2009-2010 President of the Kansas City Chapter, AGC. Don Greenwell is Executive Director of
the Kansas City Chapter, which was chartered in 1934 and currently represents 86 general contractor and 73
specialty contractor and supplier/service providers.

The gala event was held at The Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art in Kansas City, Missouri, with award winning
correspondent and talk show host Steve Kraske serving as Master of Ceremonies.

A total of 9 Winners and 15 Finalists were selected by a distinguished panel of nine judges, including:

• Chris DeVolder, LEED® AP, Director of Sustainable Design, 360 Architecture;
• Thomas E. Glavinich, D.E., P.E., Associate Professor of Civil, Environmental & Architectural

Engineering, The University of Kansas;
• Paul Harmon, P.E., Associate Professor, University of Nebraska–Lincoln;
• Kevin Klinkenberg, AIA, Principal, 180 Urban Design & Architecture and 2010 President of

AIA/Kansas City;
• Jack Landers, Ed.D., CSIT, Professor Emeritus of Construction Management, University of

Central Missouri;
• Professor James Otter, Chairperson, Department of Construction Management and

Construction Engineering Technologies, Pittsburg State University;
• Jerry Penland, D.E., P.E., Assistant Professor of Construction Management, University of

Central Missouri;
• Shawn Strong, Ph.D., Associate Professor and Head, Department of Technology and

Construction Management, Missouri State University; and
• Harold W. Wagner, Jr. , P.E., Lecturer in Construction Engineering, Department of Civil,

Architectural, and Environmental Engineering, Missouri University of Science and Technology.
