LENEXA, Kansas – May 18, 2011 – Massage Envy Lenexa/Shawnee proudly announces that Kimber Pinkerton was named as the regional winner of Massage Envy’s Therapist of the Year award. Massage Envy, the nation’s largest therapeutic massage provider and spa chain, employs over 17,000 professional massage therapists nationwide.   Pinkerton was selected out of 12 clinics and more than 300 massage therapists in the Massage Envy Heartland Region which covers clinics in Kansas and western Missouri. 

Pinkerton, who graduated from BMSI massage school, has been working as a massage therapist for Massage Envy Lenexa/Shawnee since May 2009. She customizes all of her massages to each client’s specific needs, and is highly versed in multiple types of massage therapy, including Swedish, Deep Tissue, Prenatal, Myofascial Release, Neuromuscular, Trigger Point, and Hot Stone. In Dec 2009, she was promoted to lead therapist and now assists the management team with mentoring, hiring and training of all therapists.

Pinkerton joined the top therapists from each region and participated in the annual Massage Envy Franchisee Conference in Phoenix, AZ on May 2-4, 2011.   Special training events were held for the therapists in addition to recognition at an awards dinner.  All therapist air travel, accommodations, and event participation were paid by Massage Envy.  Additionally, the winning therapists were provided with a $300 stipend.

Nationally, Massage Envy recognizes the top massage therapist from each of its 43 regions at the annual Massage Envy Franchise Conference.  Each clinic can submit one nomination for the top therapist.  Massage Envy Regional Directors gather the nominations from across the region, and then all the franchisees in the region vote.
