MEMBER NEWS SKW WELCOMES AMANDA WHITEFORD AND MELISSA KELLEY Shafer, Kline & Warren, Inc. (SKW), a regional firm offering engineering, surveying, planning, landscape architecture and construction observation services, is pleased to announce the following: Amanda Whiteford, CPSM, has joined SKW as a Marketing Coordinator in the Infrastructure and Development Services Division. Her responsibilities include pursuit strategy, market positioning, and general business development. Amanda is a Certified Professional Services Marketer (CPSM) and currently serves as President of the Kansas City Chapter of the Society for Marketing Professional Services (SMPS). She is also an active participant in Leadership Lenexa 2011 and Kansas City Commercial Real Estate Women (KC CREW). Prior to joining SKW, Amanda was a business development specialist at a national engineering firm. Amanda graduated from Kansas State University with a degree in Mass Communications – Public Relations. Melissa Kelley has joined SKW as a Business Development Coordinator in the Field Services Department. She will be responsible for marketing and business development activities, concentrating on client development and existing client maintenance. Melissa is currently serving as the Membership Director for the Kansas City Chapter of SMPS and serves on multiple committees for the Society of American Military Engineers (SAME) Kansas City Post. Melissa previously served as business development coordinator at an Olathe-based engineering firm. Melissa is a graduate of the University of Nebraska at Lincoln with a Bachelor’s of Journalism – Advertising. “I look forward to helping build relationships and to present SKW and our services to potential clients and business partners,” says Whiteford. “I could not be more enthused to work at SKW,” says Kelley. “Joining SKW allows me to offer clients an expanded range of services from a top-notch firm who has deep roots in the community and work with an outstanding group of people.” SKW principal, Larry Graham, says the addition of Whiteford and Kelley was a natural fit. “SKW has developed our organization around forming long-term partnerships with our clients.
