TURNER CONSTRUCTION ANNOUNCES STAFF PROMOTIONS
Valdez named SPD Manager; Almeida named Manager of Business Development
KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Turner Construction recently announced several staff position changes in its Kansas City office.
Brandon Valdez has been named the Manager of Turner’s Special Projects Division (SPD) in Kansas City. He has an extensive background in the division, including the establishment of Turner’s self-perform operation. During his 10 years at Turner, Valdez has worked on projects ranging from multi-million athletic facilities to small tenant fit outs for commercial clients. Most recently, Valdez was a Superintendent at LIVESTRONG Sporting Park, which completed in June.
Mark Huber, Former Manager of the Special Projects Division and a 15-year veteran of Turner, will relocate to Denver this summer to become the General Manager of that office. Huber has been the SPD Manager for three years, helping to secure projects for such clients as the City of Olathe, Nebraska Furniture Mart, Olathe School District, and the University of Kansas Medical Center. Under Huber’s management, SPD grew to a full-time staff of 30 individuals and an annual volume of more than $30 million.
John Almeida was also recently named Turner’s Manager of Business Development. Almeida began his career with Turner in 2001 as an Engineer and Superintendent, working on such projects as the Overland Park Convention Center, Branson Landing, Verizon Wireless Switching Station, and the Dennis E. Rieger Scholarship Hall at the University of Kansas. After two years in estimating and preconstruction, Almeida transitioned to Business Development last year, and will now lead the department in all of its sales pursuits, helping to grow the Kansas City office.
