The direct result of the Vision 2020 community-driven planning process. Lenexa City Center is Lenexa’s vibrant downtown destination, located at 87th Street Parkway and Renner Boulevard near the city’s geographic center.
This walkable, 200-acre mixed-use district blends shopping, dining, entertainment, hotels, offices, and residential living in one convenient location.
Just off Interstate 435 and minutes from the region’s major highways, City Center offers a true live-work-play environment. Community gathering spaces include City Hall, the Lenexa Public Market, the Lenexa Rec Center, the Farmers Market, the Shawnee Mission School District Aquatic Center, and the Lenexa City Center Library.
Throughout the year, City Center hosts popular events such as the Lenexa Art Fair, Food Truck Frenzy, Friday Night Sound Bites, and City Center Live. Recognized for its thoughtful planning and design, Lenexa City Center received the inaugural Great Places in Kansas award in 2021.

The 40,000 square foot facility occupies two floors at the Lenexa City Center campus.
- Holds lobby inside the Garage level entrance. Patrons can also choose to pick up their holds on an extended schedule.
- A drive-thru service point in the parking garage for convenient holds pick-up and material return.
- Kids area with convenient access from the adjacent parking garage, with a dedicated Story Time Room.
- Adults and Teens sections on the lower Market level, featuring a large gathering space, tech bar, and stunning mosaics by local artist Stephen T. Johnson.
- Study and conference rooms in a variety of sizes.

The Lenexa Farmers Market sells only products that are locally grown, raised, or made within 250 miles or throughout Kansas. Each Saturday and Tuesday from April through October, you can expect a great selection of products from vendors who care about providing you the very best.
The Lenexa Farmers Market is located on the bottom floor of the parking garage at the Lenexa civic campus. Free parking is available on the upper floors of the parking garage.

SHAWNEE MISSION SCHOOL DISTRICT AQUATIC CENTER

The SMSD Aquatic Center is home to the largest pool in Johnson County. The facility serves local students and the entire community. This service is made possible through a partnership between the school district, Johnson County Parks and Recreation, and the City of Lenexa.
The design celebrates the spirit of competition with layers of transparency provided in each area of the building so that viewers both inside and out can see events happening within the building.
