Lenexans have access to a multitude of options just minutes away to treat their health care needs, including facilities associated with AdventHealth, the University of Kansas Health System, the HCA Midwest Health System, Overland Park Regional Medical Center, and St. Luke’s Health System.

AdventHealth opened a new full-service hospital in Lenexa City Center in 2025, offering 24/7 emergency care, in-patient beds, surgical services, cardiac and other specialty care, an associated medical office building, and much more, complementing the continuum of health care services available within the Lenexa community.

As part of the metropolitan area, Lenexans also have nearby access to award-winning specialized care such as the National Cancer Institute (NCI)-designated University of Kansas Cancer Center, one of fewer than 60 such designated comprehensive cancer centers in the United States.

The ISO evaluation program includes 10 classifications, with 1 being the highest and 10 being the lowest. Lenexans are active and like to have fun! The city offers 34 parks encompassing 887 total acres and 45 miles of trails for hiking and biking (with another 92 acres of park land yet to be developed.) The 100,000 sq. ft. Lenexa Rec Center and indoor pool in Lenexa City Center offers individuals and families an excellent wellness and recreation experience at any age and any stage of life, with high-quality amenities, spaces, and programs for everyone to enjoy.

The newly-refurbished Lenexa Old Town Activity Center in Old Town Lenexa provides drop-in recreational activities and programs, as well as outdoor pickleball and sport courts, an open turf area, full-court gymnasium, and multi-activity rooms.

For more laid-back fun, Lenexans can enjoy the city’s Farmers Market, Public Market, concerts and live music, museums, library, community orchestra, active public art scene, and dozens of other community events and classes.

Corporate Income Tax In addition to a flat 4% corporate income tax on net income, Kansas levies a 3% surtax on taxable income over $50,000.
State Individual Income Tax State individual income taxes vary based on filing status and income level. For TY 2024, state income tax rates range from 5.2% to 5.58% based on income level, but deductions, exemptions, and credits can lower taxable income. Taxpayers file Kansas and federal income taxes separately.

Lenexa stays on the move. For longer trips, Kansas City International Airport (MCI) is located less than 30 minutes from Lenexa, directly accessible by I-435N, and an Amtrak train station is located inside Kansas City’s historic Union Station less than 15 miles from Lenexa.
