2016 Leadership Lenexa Community Service Project

This year’s Leadership Lenexa class has chosen to work with HappyBottoms – Kansas City’s only diaper bank, providing over 130,000 diapers to the KC Metro’s families in need.

Diapers are a basic health need but they are not covered by SNAP or WIC funds.  Without diapers, babies cannot participate in early childhood education – Without childcare, parents cannot go to work.

HappyBottoms’ provides diapers through donations, both financial and in-kind, and conducts diaper drives while raising awareness of the need for diapers for low-income families. HappyBottoms takes all sizes and brands of diapers and they do accept open packs as long as the diapers are clean! The most needed size is size 4 and 5 diapers and all sizes of Pull-Ups.

This is the perfect opportunity to get rid of those leftover diapers that your child has grown out of. Diapers, monetary donations and gift cards will be collected at the Business Blast and Taste of the Chamber on June 9th at Old Town Lenexa, as well as the Chamber luncheon on June 15th.
